Hello, my name is Kobe Holguin, Regional Admissions Counselor at California State University of Channel Islands (±¬ÁϳԹÏ). My roots trace back to Orange County as I was raised in La Habra and attended La Habra High School. I am a recent graduate of ±¬ÁÏ³Ô¹Ï where I obtained my B.S. in Health Science with a minor in Psychology. During my undergraduate studies, I was a member of EOP (Educational Opportunity Program) and look forward to providing support to students and first-generation college students like myself. In my free time, you can find me on X2 at Six Flags, walking my pugs, or playing video games.
I visit High Schools within the Kern and Central Valley.

Hello, my name is Brianna Baeza, Admissions Counselor at California State University, Channel Islands (±¬ÁϳԹÏ). I was born from a mixed-status immigrant family and have lived my whole life in Ventura County. As a first-generation, Mexicana, I began my higher education journey at Santa Barbara City College before transferring to the University of California, Riverside where I earned my Bachelor of Science in Biology. I am deeply passionate about empowering first-generation and underrepresented students by helping them find their voice and pursue their post-secondary goals. In my free time, I enjoy walking my Shih Tzu, Mila, dancing folklorico, bird watching, and going on road trips- especially to snowboard.

Hello, my name is Manpreet Singh, Admission Counselor at California State University, Channel Islands (±¬ÁϳԹÏ). I was born in Northern California to immigrant parents and lived there until May of 2021 when I moved to Los Angeles. I have received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from University of the Pacific and a Master of Science degree in Leadership in Higher Education from Pepperdine University. As a first-generation, minority student, I am passionate about supporting and mentoring fellow first-generation and minority students so they can achieve their educational and professional goals. In my free time, I like spending time with my husband and our 11-year-old Golden Retriever named Sammy, working out, watching movies, and being outdoors.

Hello, I am Armando Zavala, Enrollment and Affordability Coordinator at California State University, Channel Islands (±¬ÁϳԹÏ). My path in higher education began at Oxnard Community College and then led me to the University of California, Santa Barbara, where I earned a B.A. in Sociology. It was through deep engagement and the support I received that I discovered my passion for higher education. I am dedicated to empowering other non-traditional students, including first-generation scholars, transfers, students of color, members of the LGBTQ+ community, and more. I am also pursuing a master’s in educational leadership, aiming to further my impact in this field. Outside of work, you might find me at the gym, soaking in the magic of a concert, or walking with my toy poodle, Albby.

My name is Yaqueline Rodriguez, and I am a proud CSU Channel Islands alumna with a bachelor's degree in History and Chicana/o Studies. I am passionate about helping transfer students succeed at ±¬ÁϳԹÏ. I have worked with students across all grades—from K–12 to college alumni and adult learners—supporting them in identifying their career goals and retransitioning students into educational pathways that align with those goals.I understand the unique transitions that many adults face when deciding to return to school after time away, and I am committed to guiding all students through a process that honors their individual journeys. My goal is to help students make informed decisions that support both their academic and professional aspirations.I am completing a Masters of Science in Counseling & College Student Personnel December 2025. In my free time, I enjoy practicing yoga, hiking, journaling, and catching a comedy show.
